" THE ROYAL BENGAL TIGER OF INDIA - NETAJI SUBHASH CHANDRA BOSE”
It is an honour to pay homage to the great freedom fighter of India, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, on the occasion of his 126th birth anniversary today. Netaji was an Indian nationalist and leader of the Indian National Army who devoted his life to the freedom of India from British rule.
On the 126th birth anniversary of India’s most celebrated revolutionary leader, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, is a day to celebrate his immense courage and commitment towards his country. He was a trailblazer and a symbol of revolution, who gave his life for his country’s independence.
Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose was born on 23rd January, 1897 in Cuttack, Odisha. His father, Janakinath Bose was a lawyer turned government official and his mother was Prabhavati Devi. He was the ninth child of his parents. Subhash Chandra Bose was an outstanding student who studied in Presidency College, Kolkata and completed his graduation with a first-class degree in philosophy. After his graduation, he went to England to appear for the Indian Civil Services Examination. He was placed fourth in the examination, but he decided to quit his job and return to India to join the freedom struggle.
Subhash Chandra Bose was an ardent nationalist and he was greatly influenced by the teachings of Swami Vivekananda. He was a visionary and had a clear idea of how India should be liberated from the clutches of the British. He was a fierce critic of the British and was an advocate of complete independence for India.
Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose was an active participant in the Indian Independence Movement. He was a member of the Indian National Congress and was elected as the president of the party twice. He had some differences with the leadership of the Congress, so he left the party and formed the Forward Bloc. He was a great admirer of Mahatma Gandhi but was against the policy of non-violence.
Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose was an ardent believer in the power of armed struggle for the independence of India. He was of the opinion that the British rulers could not be persuaded to leave India without any military action.
In 1939, Netaji left India to seek international support for the freedom movement. He went to Germany, Japan and other countries and then formed the Indian National Army (INA) in 1942 with the help of Japanese forces, to fight against the British. The INA’s motto was “Chalo Dilli” (“On to Delhi ''), and under Netaji’s leadership, it fought several battles against the British. He was an inspirational leader who motivated the Indian soldiers to fight for their country. The INA fought against the British in the Burma campaign during World War II. His defiant attitude and patriotic spirit inspired many people and he was hailed as a hero.
Netaji’s courage and unwavering commitment towards his country did not go unnoticed. He was known for his inspirational quotes like “Give me blood, and I shall give you freedom”/ “तुम मुझे खून दो मैं तुम्हे आज़ादी दूंगा” and “It matters not how many battles we have lost, but how many we have won”.
In his famous speech, “Give me blood and I will give you freedom”, he said “The time has come when you have to step out of the world of dreams and face the stern reality. The time has come when you have to be ready to shed your blood and sacrifice your lives to free your motherland.” He was a true patriot and his words inspired many people to join the freedom struggle.
Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose was a great leader who dedicated his life to the freedom of his country. He was a visionary and a great orator who inspired many people to join the freedom struggle. His unconditional sacrifice and contribution to the Indian freedom struggle will always be remembered. Netaji Bose was a true patriot who gave his life for the freedom of India. His legacy lives on even today and will continue to inspire generations to come. His immense courage and commitment to his country will always be remembered and cherished. On this day, let us pay tribute to this great leader and remember his contribution to the Indian Independence Movement.
Subhash Chandra Bose said “One individual may die for an idea, but that idea will, after his death, incarnate itself in a thousand lives.” His words are true even today and his legacy will live on forever.
